"When I began practicing law almost 20 years ago, I had but one mission: to make my parents proud. That was especially important to me because it was my way of honoring the legacy and heritage of both my father (Greek) and mother (Assyrian).

Chicago born and bred; I grew up in the Budlong Woods community which is now part of the Lincoln Square neighborhood. 

My dad, Solon Kalogerakos, emigrated to the United States from Kalamata (Messenia in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese region of Greece). 

As the only child of my parents, it was understood that I would make the most of the opportunities growing up in America offered.

Maintaining a strong connection to my heritage takes on greater significance because my parents are no longer with us. Last year, I took my family—two boys and two girls—to visit Kalamata. 

It was so great to hear them say “this is where papou was from,” even though they’ve never met him since he passed over 25 years ago. In deference to Greek tradition, my eldest child is named after my father.

My parents’ admonition to champion the underdog is why I fight so hard for the clients who come to me for help when they’ve been injured. And I believe that is why so many of my clients are referred to us by others we have helped.

We have grown from one to now three offices in Illinois, New York and most recently, Arizona. We primarily focus on serious and catastrophic injury cases and have secured hundreds of millions for our clients.
